Bio: Barbara Hendriks is a Medical Technologist and Managing Director of Biomedical/Caledonia Medical Laboratory Ltd., the First Medical Laboratory in Jamaica to be accredited with the ISO 15189 Standard, by the Jamaica National Agency for Accreditation (JANACC). She is also an Ambassador for the Accreditation body, JANAAC.

Hendriks received her training at the University Hospital of the West Indies, Jamaica and she is also certified by the American Medical Technologists, (AMT). She also has a Diploma in Management and Business Administration. She has been employed by Biomedical/Caledonia Medical Laboratory for over 40 years, achieving the post of Managing Director in 1999.

Among Hendriks’ awards is an award for outstanding service from the Caribbean Association of Medical Technologists (CASMET). She also served on the Board of the Laboratory Association of Jamaica as Corresponding Secretary. She is a member of the Kiwanis Club of New Kingston, Jamaica, and is a Justice of the Peace for the parish of St. Andrew, Jamaica.
