Bio: Tess is the current Director for the eICU program and Patient Communication Center at BayCare Health Systems in Central West Florida. A critical care RN with more than 35 years experience, she completed her initial nursing training in South Africa and has furthered her career and education here in the USA since 2001. In 2014 Tess launched the eICU (Virtual ICU) for BayCare Health Systems. This program currently supports 354 critical care beds in 23 critical care units.In April 2016 Tess, together with a multi-disciplinary team developed the Patient Communication Center; a program that follows up on all abnormal and critical lab results on the discharged Emergency Room patient population in 12 hospitals. This program is currently being rolled out to address abnormal and critical results on the discharged in-patient population as well.
