Ed Giugliano
Bio: Ed Giugliano has over 30 years of research, clinical, and management experience in healthcare from SmithKline Beecham Clinical Laboratories, New York and Presbyterian Hospitals Care Network, Cathedral Healthcare System and the North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System. He has held various academic teaching positions both on the undergraduate and graduate level. Currently project manager at the North Shore LIJ Health System Laboratories, Giugliano is a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt trained in process excellence, Lean implementation and fast-track decision making (FTD) to drive improvement across the organization.
Giugliano holds a Ph.D. in biology from St. John’s University, an M.S. in biomedical sciences from Long Island University, and a B.S. in microbiology from Cornell University. His clinical interests are in microbiology/serology and his research interests relate to cellular biology. He has authored various scientific and management articles, abstracts, poster sessions and chapters in publications. In addition to being a member of the American Society for Microbiology, he has also been a member of the Clinical Laboratory Management Association, and the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. He is on the council of the New York City branch of the American Society for Microbiology, and serves as editor of the branch’s membership newsletter.
